Metabolomics 2025: A Week of Science and Team Connection

Metabolomics 2025

From June 20 to 26, 2025, the oloBion team attended Metabolomics 2025, a leading international conference organized by Metabolomics Society that brings together renowned experts to discuss the latest advances in metabolomics and their relevance in biological research. It took place in Prague (Czech Republic), a city steeped in culture and history, located in the heart of Europe.

The Conference

Researchers from around the world gathered in Prague for a week of sessions covering metabolomics applications across human biology, plant science, food research, environmental studies, and microbiology. The latest tools and techniques that are advancing metabolomics workflows were presented and shared with the community.

For us, as a company specialized in metabolomics, lipidomics and proteomics analysis, the conference represented an opportunity to strengthen scientific connections, forge collaborations and, identify analytical and computational advances that may further reinforce our workflows, as well as to share how our cutting-edge mass spectrometry–based technology and proprietary oloMAP® platform support the transformation of complex omics datasets into structured, data-driven insights for research and development.

During the event, we attended a broad range of plenary talks, workshops and poster sessions to capture methodological insights and identify emerging topics relevant to future multi-omics projects. We also took the opportunity to increase our visibility in countries where we do not yet have an established presence and to identify companies with potential for future collaboration. Overall, it was a highly enriching experience for the whole team, providing new perspectives that will support our continued development in the field of metabolomics.

The Team Experience

The Metabolomics 2025 conference was not only a valuable scientific experience for the team, but also an opportunity to get to know each other better and strengthen our connection. During our week in Prague, we took part in several team-building activities.

On the one hand, we explored every corner of this beautiful city, from the Old Town Square, where the Astronomical Clock is located, to Prague Castle, passing by the Charles Bridge along the way. Our colleague Neus gathered historical and cultural information about the city and shared it with us throughout the tour. We also had the opportunity to enjoy the iconic Black Light Theatre of Prague, a silent show that takes place on a darkened stage where objects and characters are gradually illuminated, creating a striking interplay of light and shadow.

On the other hand, we challenged ourselves with an outdoor escape room. We explored the city following clues and solving puzzles to uncover the secrets of the Imperial Astronomer and find his treasure. It was a fun activity that pushed us to use our wits and work together as a team. Our colleague Yeray, who is passionate about escape rooms, came up with this excellent idea.

Finally, one evening, we enjoyed a fun Kahoot! session with questions about each other and ourselves. It was a lovely way to get to know each other a little better.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to meet with us during the event. If you were unable to attend and would like to explore potential collaboration opportunities, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We also thank our CEO, Paolo Bonini, for supporting the organization of this conference trip and team activities. We look forward to seeing you at future editions of the Metabolomics Conference.
